I've been playing this game for hours on end and only have one piece of exotic armor from strange coins and everything else is rare. Whoever can tell me the best way to get legendary and or exotic stuff I will give a rep. Thanks!

Vanguard Strikes and the Weekly Nightfalls are good ways to get some Legendary stuff.

For me, I found the easiest way to get legendary gear was to level up your Vanguard to at least Rank 2 to get legendary armor. Helmets are (I believe) around 120 Vanguard Marks, correct me if I'm wrong, while the rest of the armor (Gauntlets, Chest, Legs) is 65 marks each. At your level, I'd advise doing Patrol missions and Vanguard bounties to level up your level and doing the Vanguard Tiger (Level 24 Strike) Playlist to get 6 Vanguard Marks whenever you complete one. By the time you get to Vanguard Rank 2, you should have more than enough marks to get one or two pieces of Legendary armor. This is, in my opinion, the easiest and best way to get Legendary armor.
Vault of Glass is out of the question at this point due to your level. Basically, everything will one-hit you and you probably won't make it past the first portion. Do what I said above and upgrade that armor until you reach Level 27+ then start doing VoG to get Raid armor. Hope this helped!

The easiest way by far is the nightfall. I've gotten countless exotics from it.

Make a second warlock and you transfer your stuff on the other account once you reach lvl 20. You can do everything in double, dayly mission, weekly, nighfall, VoG
