i bought the one when it first came out when i had internet and did the inital setup.i now live out in the boonies and have no internet access other then a verizon mifi which my xbox wont connect to for some reason.I can handle playing offline but my question is if i were to buy a new game (forza horizon 2) would i need to be connected to the internet for updates or am i good to go straight into some offline gaming like the 360.

You can play offline without updates yes.
