Hey guys, currently I am studying Computer Networking and System Support at college and want to hear other peoples opinions on this idea. Basically I want to start up a free tech support service where anyone can call me either on my phone (UK only) or through Skype (International).

You may be wondering why I am doing this, I would like to do this to gain experience in Tech Support as I believe it would benefit me well in the future when getting a Job in the IT industry. I also enjoy helping people and I am usually the main person who my friends come to when they have an IT related issue.

Thank you

People aren't just going to call a person with no vouches as it wastes there minutes or costs them. You're best bet is going onto other forum websites and assisting people in Networking problems.

Tomshardware a lot of people ask questions. And you will learn from others too just like this site.

Not saying at all to drift away from this site but not many people have network problems on TTG but of course when they have and you have a solution help.

When you say a support service that sounds something like commitment to a service you wont get many replys from.

Also when a lot of people have problems regarding hardware or software they normally contact the manufacturer or go onto google or forums etc.

Seeming though your just learning this at college now, wait a bit till you learn more. Then think about setting up a service. Might just be a post on TTG and if you really know your stuff and make a GREAT thread then you might get it stickied.
