So i was messin with my sister and kickin her off the wifi to p*ss her off and i refreshed it with two new wireless devices showing up as <Unknown> and the i.p address also as <Uknown>. A mac address did show up though? If i use Backtrack5R3 will i be able to detect the geological location of the intruder? i have a feeling its my neighbors they are always finding ways to mess with our wifi! So will that work to track them back? If not, Anyone have any ideas to find a geological location?

You can't find someones location with a mac address and if you had an IP it would just be a local one the router has assigned to that client.

It could be the program you are using to boot your sister off wifi causing those clients to show up but if you believe someone is on your wifi just change the WPA key and disable WPS as a lot of routers had a security vulnerability which made cracking the WPA key via a brute force WPS pin attack very easy.

You can't find anything with a Mac address no, just change your routers WPA2 key if you feel it's compromised.

No, the only way you could do something like that would be to find the mac address of everything on your network such as your sisters PC and yours and compare it to those mac addresses there.

However it'd be a lot simpler just to change your WiFi key.

The two people above just said you wouldn't be able to find the devices location via the IP or Mac address. Just change the password/security key like they said.
