Clean idea, but make sure the logo you desire to use represents the company in a whole.
You don't want a random shape as your logo and it mean nothing..

I have worked in the industry.
Please please please, if you ever get chance to present your logos in a professional environment, reply with "Its just the way the logo is" when they ask "What is it?" or "How will it repressent us?"
If the shaping in the middle had any relevance at all to what you were doing then it would make sense.
To me was a Roman Emperor.
So I would find something to link Romans with Skating. Kinda like 6 degrees of seperation.
Then show how the logo became what it is to represent your vision.
Not simply.
