i have pre-ordered iphone 6 plus from EE uk on 16th September now will i get the phone on launch day as i have pre ordered it or not so confused with this pre order i thought that if i pre order something i get it when it is launched.

Most likely not. People who only ordered it the day of are going to get it release day.
The later you pre-ordered, the later you are going to get it. By pre-ordering something, you are guaranteed to get it. It is like the Xbox One and PS4 when it first launched, they did not have any in stock for months, only the people who pre-ordered got them.

I pre-ordered mine the morning of the 12th, and if you are having it delivered then expect it in about a month or so. If you have a apple store near you then you can go stand in a huge line for hours and pick up your phone, if and only if you selected instore pick up
