Hey, what's going on guys, Astromods here(duh), and I have been having a really weird issue, at least I think it's weird, and I was wondering if anyone here could help me out with it. Now this issue is one that most people face, but it happens to me in a kinda weird way.

My internet connection sucks. Alright, I am pretty sure most people's connection sucks, but what I don't get is why it fluctuates around certain times at my house, and more to the point on different systems. On my pc I always have a 3 bar connection, but on my laptop I have full service, and can use things like Netflix with no error. I wanted to use my PlayStation 3 to watch Netflix today, and that kept messing every five minutes and it was right next to our router which is displaying full connection, no issues. If I were to use my Wii(Don't laugh lmao), for netflix, it works perfectly, and it is also right next to the router. I guess what I am trying to ask here is, what can I do to make everything run smoothly. Any tips or tricks welcome.

Well a few things that could be causing you issues could be how many devices you have connected to it and is it a powerful enough router to handle it. Also what channel it is on because if you have neighbors around you on the same channel then theirs could be interfering with yours.

Its either...
1. To many devices on your connection
2. Other people around you use internet when your trying to
3. Your laptop might be higher on the list of your devices to get internet. Like QOS, if you know what that is.

Thanks for the reply, I was thinking a newer router could help solve my problems, and it is on a pretty secure channel with a HUGE password so I doubt anyone would be able to access it around me(No one around is smart enough to). What's more I doubt people want to try and access my wifi because it is named "FBI Surveillance Van", which his hilarious.

By channel I meant the wireless channel, not people using your network haha. What I meant was that if there's a bunch of networks in your area then some could be running on the same channel number. You can download a wi-if analyzer to show what channels are being used and which are not and then you can change yours accordingly within the router settings . But a better router could also do the trick, I'd go witha dual band if you do decide to upgrade.

Alright, sounds like I am gonna be checking out Newegg sometime soon, hopefully I can find something good for cheap there. A better router is def in need at this point.

Try disconnecting the devices that work on Netflix etc.. Then reset the modem & router once they are disconnected and see if it fixes the problem.
