They can ip ban you whenever you are console banned. If you had your retail or someone else had their console on while you were on the jtag, all the consoles could get banned, that's why many people use vpns as it hides their ip from Microsoft. PM me if you need any help

okay but cant i just change my ip on my xbox if i get banned like can i go to configure my network and change my xbox ip manually then get un ipbanned?

I have been online with my RGH thousands of times and I have yet to encounter an ip ban.

Microsoft doesn't IP ban people. It wouldn't make sense. You could easily change your IP. They don't do it. People who disagree, go ahead. It's called common sense. Why would they ban you like that if you can unban yourself easily? Idiots.

the first time i used xbls every console in my house was banned, every retail i connected to talk to friends was banned, my slim i never modded on was banned, later they unbanned a rrod xbox with a broken disc drive(I towel tricked to get online to talk to friends). Is that an ip ban?

I always go online with my normal connection, I've been online 5 times now with my normal connection and never have been IP banned, just console banned twice, lol.
