Manual... You control the car with manual. You also have feel one with the car. Manual with out a doubt, mainly because it is just more fun to drive stick!

TTgUNLIMITED wrote Sports car are best manual. If you plan to hit into the power pretty hard time to time then you need to make sure that you don't get a automatic if it's anything more than that. Otherwise you might be paying more money into transmission rebuilds than the car might be worth. However, Manual you also have the problems of potentially blowing up the clutch which is around 70 dollars but may happen more than a automatic does.

It you have a $70 clutch I would expect nothing less than seeing shards of it on the ground just going into first gear.

For a lot of city driving or high traffic area ( I have no patience with rubbernecking) then go for an auto. Manual keeps you in control of you vehicle more and adds awareness to your driving.

Manual, always manual.

Automatics are not really worth it, suck the fun out and make you just look bad in general I feel.

A good manual and over time you will get so used to it that it doesn't bother you anymore.

The original poster might not even read this, but maybe somebody will. I had always driven automatic and I felt embarsed becuase I couldn't drive manual so I made my self believe that automatic was the best. But I ended up buying a manual and it actually opened up a new world. Driving manual is a experience that automatic can not even compare to. No matter what the car. With manual you control the car not the other way around. Go with manual you will love it and get much more respect and you personally will be much happier

What can I drive on to learn manual? I can't buy an old car because then that will take away money from the 350z. And none of my family has a manual, and I really don't wanna grind the gear in the 350z. Or kill it and look like an idiot...

Personally, I started off driving an automatic as my first car. But, since then, now that I have more experience, I picked up a cheap 5 speed and I refuse to get another auto. I feel like I'm more aware of my surroundings since I have to constantly be scanning to prepare to down-shift/up-shift. There is also the benefit of feeling more in control of the car. It's all preference in what YOU feel most comfortable with. Don't let anyone tell you different, if you feel more comfortable with an auto (which I understand completely), then get an auto. Don't worry about being 'cool'. Unless it's to impress girls.. However imo, I will choose manual over auto any day.
