So I'm working with CPS (Chicago Public Schools) as an intern. One of my assignments was to just put together a flyer for recruits and volunteers. Nothing extraordinary, but I did get a chance to use Photoshop for the first time in a few months.

It's a lot better than the Microsoft Office template flyer that would've been used.

To be fair it isnt much different from a Microsoft template as it has a giant in the middle.

Colours are bland and unappealing
The important information is the smallest

Sorry

I find it looks very clean and nice. If I were to rate it, I'd give it a 8/10

the small text is too small for a flyer,
the fonts are all over the place (whats up with the varied italics?)
it just doesn't look appealing mate. Maybe the template would have been a better choice, their less fun to make but their of a professional standard

edit: good luck though mate, you have always been a pleasure to have around the graphics forum

\This isn't the direction I wanted to go in at all, but when you're given directions by your boss, and it's due in a few hours.. eh. I wanted to go in this direction, but no one had photos for me to use: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

The flyer is meant to draw the attention of students and other that may be interested in volunteering. So I decided to go with something that would pop out. It's not meant to be formal or professional. If my boss doesn't like it, then I'll happily change it. I do think the font size could be altered. I was trying to find a way to cut the information down into only the most important info.

Not my kind of work anyway. I prefer photo manipulations, and UI/UX. This was definitely outside the comfort zone, especially since all I've done as of lately is program apps. I'll have to look at it again when I'm at home. Maybe take out the center piece.

Here's the original as well:

This flyer needs some spacing work as well as some design aspect work.

The colors are bland and don't grab the attention of it's readers which is what a flyer is SUPPOSED to do.

The font you chose doesn't really stand out and some of the text is too close or oddly spaced to the brain in the center as well as other things within the flyer.

Thanks for all the replies. I'll take everything you all said, and make a revision.Having some time to look at it at home definitely helped. I'm definitely rusty.

Alright, so I went in a different direction then the original flyer. I just finished, so I may have s bit more tweaking, but this is what I have for now.

Again, thanks for the CC, it's always welcome!
