So I have just bought a new mother board and CPU and have overclocked them to 4.8ghz and started to play some games on them and I was playing dayz then my whole computer just freezes so I had to manually restart my computer then again I turned it back on and was playing a game and ctrl + alt + deleted and then my computer froze so I gave it one more restart and was just browsing on my computer and it froze again can anyone please help me?

Its an unstable overclock, go back to stock speeds and try again but to a lower speed such as 4.7ghz than run dayz again for a few hours or run a benchmark for a bit and see if you freeze if you dont, perfect, if you do try again but go down a bit agin and than reset the benchmark or the game.

When overclocking go up slowly to test it and keep your hardware in a good state.

What CPU and motherboard do you have? What did you do in the BIOS to get to 4.8?

PUT IT BACK TO STOCK

You obviously dont know what you are doing and you could have out the volts up stupidly or done something that may break your computer. Answer the above questions before OC'ing again

4.8Ghz is a high OC for any CPU. You need good cooling, motherboard and a good chip to do this. How many volts are you putting into the CPU?
