Is there any Cydia mod/hack or a method to get free gems? I know the free in app purchase mod doesnt work because it goes through a server and just ends in an error. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

No, there are no hacks for Clash of Clans since it is a server based game. Maybe in the future but as of right now, no.
