Sorry for the n00b question, this is the first time I've ever built a PC. What do I need to use to check the internal temperatures of the PC? Like is there a certain software I need to use? And how hot is too hot?

there are many apps you can download. just google it and pick which one you like

CPU: Core temp [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
GPU: GPU Temp [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
Speccy and HWMonitor will also give temps, but they have been known to be a bit off.

I'd recommend HWMonitor, also IFan can be good.
