On your computer format it to fat32 and then load up whatever games, patches etc. Then plug it into the xbox and run xex menu or whatever you're using and it will work.

It will need to be FAT32. If you have any trouble formatting large drives to FAT32 on your computer then just do the following.

-Plug it into your computer
-Click start, right-click Computer, click Manage
-Once open go to Disk Management
-Right-click the drive you want to reformat and select delete volume
-Try to reformat it and if FAT32 option is not available just exit everything and unplug your drive
-Plug it into your xbox and go to the stock dashboard
-Go to Memory Management and wait for the drive to show up
-Highlight the drive, press Y, and select Customize
-Choose the smallest amount of memory available (unless you want to use some for normal xbox stuff like saves or whatever)

This will format the whole drive to FAT32 and is an easy way to get around newer computers not letting you format large drives to FAT32.
