The post title is a little blunt, but after watching Shutter Island it got me thinking.

What if I'm a schizophrenic or a psychopath or just had a traumatic event happen to me to make me repress my memories & create a whole alter ego to forget the traumatic memory. Like what if all of you are just figments of my imagination. Like I've been looping through figuring out who I really am, but I constantly reset like Leo's character in Shutter Island does. I could've seen my parents die or something & I've repressed that memory and made up who I am right now. I don't know, just kind of freaks me out. Sorry for lack of a better explanation of this. Best way I could really explain it without telling you guys in person.

(Weird thing: As I was typing this I kind of saw like a glitch that you would see on a computer screen out the bottom of my left eye. Makes me think about what if we're in the Matrix also, but that's another conspiracy for a different post. Anyway I thought it was weird so I thought to add it.)

The stigma behind people with schizophrenia is sad.
You can live a seemingly normal life as long as you take your meds.

If you're genuinely worried about being schizophrenic to such an extent that the entire world around you is a figment of your imagination, then maybe look online for other symptoms of schizophrenia.

Anyway what you are describing is more like the theory of solipsism. Solipsism is basically the idea that nothing is real, and that your mind is the only thing that is sure to exist. Everything you see, hear, feel and experience is merely a construct from your own mind. I can't be bothered to give more detail, but if you're interested then look it up, it's very interesting.

I personally think that that is a very cold and pessimistic view on life, but my point is that it is true that you can never be SURE about anything, as there really is no way of knowing whether or not the world outside of your own mind does actually exist.

My Girlfriend had drug educed Schizophrenia for about 2 months after Overdosing on md. You are fully aware that you have it. i mean completely aware. You are fearful which i understand but you would know if you had it. there would be no second thought you would 100% know.
