I know it isn't huge but it is to me. Since i have never had an "Actual" Job before and i'm almost 17 this is a big step.

I'm hopefully getting a job at Shop Rite. Which is a SuperMarket, Grocery store. For all you people who don't live in the USA.

All of my friends work there, literally almost all the cashiers are my friends from school.

Any advice?

I'm wearing a polo, dress pants and dress shoes.

Sit up straight and maintain eye contact.
Use positive language.
As its your first job you will need to fall back on school experiences.

Were you part of a team?
Why did you enjoy it?

Why do you want there?
NOT MONEY!!
You want a career in retail and this would be the ideal place to start that career.

Be calm, get there early.

When I started work at Pick n' Save (Grocery store), I felt so old when I deposited my paycheck. I still do to this day haha!

Interview is in 2 hours. I'm just scared she'll ask me about my grades because they don't reflect my intelligence.

Hey i am 17 also, i use to work at a store called marsh. All you really have to do is connect with the employer. I a not going to be rude or anything but getting a job at a supermarket is about the easiest job to get. Are you going to be a service clerk? or a cashier?

Just remember, act like you are going to be talking to Obama, or Harvard College.

Don't wear that. In any job interview you need to dress one level above what you will actually be wearing at the job if you get it. At shopright I believe the employee's wear a polo and khakis.

So you should be wearing a button down shirt, tie, and khakis with nice looking shoes.

Oh yeah. Good luck!

^ This . First impression is everything. Even though it's a cashier job there are some ppl who probably do not take pride in their appearance. I worked at Weis when years ago starting register and I dressed up pretty much is if I was going to church. Hair cut , clean presentable clothes , positive attitude. Don't tell them what they want to hear just be honest and clear with your responses. Grades should not be an issue if you are not failing but either way it's not a deal breaker. Always show up atleast 10-15 min early whether it be for an interview or just doing your job. To most it's not a career it's just a job but take pride in what you do because someone is always watching .

Act yourself and show up in time. You may not get it but if you act like you and be like, eventually a place will hire you
