i have brought several cheap capture cards to record my xbox 360 gameplay but none of them have worked with my windows 8 laptop. I was wondering if any do? thanks

Almost any capture card should but make sure you have a recording program that was made for Windows 8.
The recording program is the only thing you should have to worry about in terms of it being compatible with Windows 8.

Most active capture Cards (Ones that are still sold in stores will probably work with Windows 8)

Like the user above said, most should work. I have an El Gato capture card and it works fine with my windows 8 desktop.
