It could still exsist in the deepest parts of the ocean and since we have only explored approx 5% of the worlds oceans there is a chance it could still be living in the deepest darkest depths of the ocean.

IIRC the reason for their extinction is meant to be due to them not being able to survive in colder conditions, and the depths of the ocean are pretty cold.

Sharks just creep me out. But like another user said, we haven't even scratched the surface of the ocean. And to be honest, I could live easy without knowing what is down there.

I don't think they're still is one alive, or several at all. Simply because the atmosphere is completely different now, than it was back millions of years ago. It just wouldn't be able to survive in today's atmosphere.

I truly have almost always thought the Megaladon still exists. Obviously not to the massive size some people describe. A documentary I watched suggested it was literally almost impossible to describe the size of this monster. For example, a human swimming in the ocean (this is a made up scenario, obviously) would not even be able to realize the Megaladon was next to them. They would like barely be a speck in size compared to the body of this shark. I don't believe it was near this big. But I believe it was a lot larger than great whites. And I believe they do exist, or are capable of existing. Due to the fact not even 10% of earths oceans have been explored. And we have no idea what truly lies deep in the sea. I think they may be smaller than what they used to be ages ago, but they still are alive in my opinion.

I read this the other day, they think its a 16 foot cannibal great white. I don't think they have really been tracked much from what it said. Also the History Channel will be airing a new documentary on this story. You should check it out.
