I have been looking to buy a chevy 350 tbi crate,or turnkey engine.no more than $10,000.Ive been on ebay and seen some really good deals but just want someone elses opinion on engines. any suggestions on where to buy one?
reason for me buying a new engine is mine has 220,000 plus miles on it and i dont see it lasting much longer.

You can find loads of built 350's for less than 10 grand, check out blueprint engines, summit, mast motorsports (they may only do LS motors, no clue), and others.

Most of these motors will only be around 4-5.

What is it going into? I would look for an LS series engine if your going for a modern feel. Most are aluminum block but some Chevy truck blocks are iron ( 6.0 ) and can be built up a lot cheaper than just buying a turnkey engine if you look in the right places for parts and deals, but then again having a brand new engine start for the first time in your car gives you that " kid on x-mas " feeling.

its going in a 1992 chevy c1500
