You have to realise that the dude is 41 now you're an idiot if you think he's still going to be the same angry person he was 10-15 years ago.

You want another angry white boy check out Yelawolf & MGK.

Okay let's go through this:

Infinite - I hardly listened to this. I liked maybe one song.

Slim Shady LP - It was an outlet for all of his frustrations. Think about his position at the time (If you listened to his songs). He kept getting robbed, fighting with Kim, had a daughter, etc.

His life was pretty terrible at this point.

The Marshall Mathers LP - Same thing as above. Also talks about coping with coming into fame. All young artists who got very famous, very fast feel this way. Hopsin's new album anyone?

I'm going to quickly generalize these albums

Eminem Show - Encore - Learning how to cope with everything going on. etc. Becoming less angry.

Relapse - This was his rock bottom. He even admitted this album was pretty terrible. I liked maybe one song, at this point, as far as I remember, it hardly had anything to even do with his actual life.

Recovery - Learning how to rap while sober again. Mainly uplifting moods. You need to remember, he almost overdosed 2009~ and his life abruptly changed.

MMLP2 - He IS back to his old self, just not angry. He's learned to let the bullsh*t go for the most part. I actually fairly enjoyed most of MMLP2.

What people need to learn is that, yes, rap lately is about bratty, children who have been picked up off the street by record labels (Chief Keef), or angry, screaming individuals who really rap about the same things continuously.

There's also this bandwagon of people "enjoying" rap from the 90's again, acting like it's supreme and still listen to the crap today.

Here's what I look at Eminem's career as, as well as Tech N9ne (his musical style has been similar to Eminem in that it changes rapidly).

It's like reading a biography. You get to see the hardships these people endure and how they got through it. It's inspiring.

Quote from "Meant to happen" Tech N9ne
So now I see, these stories in my life
I was meant to share my darkness within my light
People say it helps them to see me fly
From the bottom, thats motivation for them all, now I see exactly why

To each their own. Some people listen to artists for a beat or style. Then listen to a specific genre. I listen to music mainly as an escape. TBH Eminem and Tech N9ne kept me going in life.

I completely understand what you're saying here, I disagree with some stuff, I enjoyed Relapse actually.
Anyways, I like how you explained their albums is like a biography, that was a good analogy, and it makes a lot of sense.

Why get mad at it? Just don't listen to him if it's going to make you mad, lol.

I never was a fan of his music at all expect for his first album which I thought was ok. He's way over-hyped in my opinion.

It was just a generalization. But I personally gave people I listen to for just a beat and others for lyrics.
Eminem happens to be for lyrics.
The biography metaphor doesn't always work though. Some rappers always rap about drugs, money and being famous.

I get mad over it because he's my favorite rapper, and I expect it to be awesome, I no longer listen to MMLP 2
