I guess if I put 12 cents into Apple stock back in 1987, I should have sold it in 2011 when it was worth $393, right?

Or should I have maximized my profits and sold in 2012, when it was worth $700?

Spin it however you want, he lost out on, although likely unnecessary, a lot of money.
