I can not get my head around clash of the clans. Can someone tell me what exactly you have to do and is it online compatible? Thanks...

my experience/opinion.
get as many builder huts as possible
then upgrade your gold and elixir storages as many times as possible.
then upgrade everything else slowly (don't worry about upgrading your defenses until you have everything else around a level 4). once you have everything at least level 5 then start pushing for trophies, that is where you go to the attack button and start multiplayer battles. once you have around 1000 trophies then try looking for a clan, clans are good because you get free gold and elixer from winning clan wars and you also get free troops all the time. you'll figure it out from there on.
if you want to join a clan right away befure you upgrade anything you are welcome to join mine, search for the clan: UnrealNightmare
