All depends on the dashboard. If it's above 7371 or has a patched CB then you'll need an appropriate NAND reader (most likely just a NAND-X or JR-Programmer), a glitch chip (Recommend CoolRunner Rev C) and soldering skills.
For soldering stuff you'll need flux, some Q-tips, a de-soldering braid and of course the low wattage soldering iron. If you need any help with it then PM me and I'll help you further

Xbox Parts

Xbox has to be on dashboard 7371 or lower

Option 1: Buy a a console that is jtag-able

Option 2: Buy a jtag-able motherboard, xbox shell, screws for the xbox, and if the motherboard comes with a motherboard only you will need to buy a dvd drive with a PCB in it with a sata port so you can be able to replace it with the one it's supposed to be married with and finally if it does come with a PCB you would only need a dvd drive and just replace the PCB that the dvd drive comes with so you won't need to do the flashing part..

Jtag Items Required

A JRPv1,v2/Nand X

1n4148 Diodes

Kynar Wire

And you can use a QSB

Tools

Soldering Pen

Flux

A fiberglass pen (optional)

Soldering Core
