I have an iPhone 5 running iOS 7.0.6. I did the 7.0.6 update over the air. According to evasi0ns website I shouldn't jailbreak as it will get stuck in the boot loop, and then if I tried to restore I would be forced to update to iOS 7.1.1 which is currently unjailbreakable. I just want to know if it would be possible for me to jailbreak safely without any issues.

Probably not. As evasion says, you need to jailbreak your phone from a clean restore to a jailbreakable version.

You can try the jailbreak anyway, just know that if it fails you would have to restore and update to 7.1.1 to get your phone working again.
