Buxtyy wrote Instead of upgrading this sytem at christmas, you might find it a better idea to just look at the newer Intel processors at the time. We're just about to get the Haswell refresh in the next month, and this time next year there will be a whole new socket type. I'd wait for the next gen processors rather than wasting the money on an i7 and dual GPU's.

4th Gen processor aren't worth the money, 3rd Gen keep cooler. I'll wait till next and think about the new socket. Whats the called anyway?

They have a performance increase and they have better power saving technology. You'd only worry about the heat difference if you were overclocking and even then you can get decent overclocks.

It's still Haswell on the LGA1150 socket, but its the Intel 9 Series chipsets.

Hardly an increase in performance, might think about overclocking but im going to grab liquid cooling before clocking. So just new chipset, nothing to it except intergrated graphics.

Well there is a increase in performance, and if you were planning to buy a whole new processor and motherboard when it would be silly to rule it out. Especially as water cooling is fine to overclock Haswell with.

You have all that PowerSupply and your not running dual grahpics cards. You should look into running 2 GTX 760ti 4gb each and you could play any game you want on max.

Meh, not bothered about dual graphics, one is fine by me.
