Hey guys SO my computer (Alienware Aurora R4) no need to talk crap about me having that I was a newbie anywho it shuts off within 5 mins of being on and the fans go ballistic but im not sure exactly whats wrong I don't know if the motherboard is wrecked or if I need to update Hardware etc because I cant keep it on to figure it out and so im stuck between a rock and a hard place. Please help me

Motherboard- Alienware 07JNH0
CPU- RTM i7-3820
BIOS v1- A03
BIOS v2- ALWARE - 1072009

If it shuts down within that period of time and the fans spin up before doing so then it could be heat related.

Download HWMonitor to check out what temperatures your system gets up to and ensure the inside of your case is well ventilated and clean.

I cant because by the time all that happens it would go off especially when i open chrome or whatever browser

Boot into BIOS then and see if that has a built in temperature monitor you can look at.

In case you haven't done so already then, open up your PC case and see if its dusty at all. You could even try applying new thermal paste to the processor cooler if you like.

Not dusty and I could try the paste I would have to pick some up from the hardware store though

Well it sounds like a temperature issue from the details you've given. Unless of course you've changed any software or hardware recently.
