I used the Skullcandy "Slyr" as my first headset, although it wasn't the first I'd used, just owned. It was the most comfortable I've ever seen though, and pretty durable. The plastic lining that kept the earpiece on broke after a year, tape fixed it for another couple months. It was ~$70 when I got it.

The pair I use now is $80-$90 and it's the universal wireless Afterglows. They're good, but not comfortable for longer gaming sessions. A couple hours and my ears hurt from the pressure it has (that you can't adjust at all due to it being one size fits all)

Edit: I still use the cords from the slyr, allows me to use earphones with a built in mic on my pc. Has an in-built equalizer that's handy too.
