Well i've been trying to restore my iphone 5 which i've forgotten the password to for the past hour or so, i put it in recovery mode and then click restore on itunes and update the phone, but after 30 minutes into the download of the update the phone restarts itself so i have to update it again and again

I'm kind of confused but what I would recommend is to go to the website below and download your firmware from there. Once done, update your phone using that firmware you downloaded. If this doesn't help, then I defiantly would recommend you to watch YouTube videos because that always helps me. Hope I helped! :-)
