Hello TTG Members, I'm going to be building a PC soon, and I wanted your thoughts on this build.

I was thinking about switching from a 760 to a 770, but it runs BF4 on Ultra 70-80fps fine.

Specs:
    Case: Thermaltake Overseer RX-I
    Mobo: Asus M5A99FX PRO R2.0 AM3+
GPU: EVGA Geforce GTX 760 4GB
    CPU: AMD FX-8350 Vishera 4.0GHz
Cooling: Corsair Hydro Series H105 240mm Liquid Cooler
    Memory: Corsair Vengeance 16GB (2x8GB)
    --Storage--
    SSD: Kingston HyperX 3K 120GB
    HDD: Seagate Barracuda 3TB

    Optical Drive: Asus Blu-ray Drive
    PSU: Corsair HX Series 850W

Any other thoughts/suggestions, please feel free to comment. If you don't want to comment, vote in the poll! If you vote no, please consider commenting why you don't think it's a good build!

I'd go with a i5 over a 9350 any day..

The 770 will allow you to run BF4 on ultra at a decent FPS

The 9350 was a typo. My apologies. But I am going to stick with AMD as the motherboard I am getting is AMD socket and I really enjoy AMD.
I would get the 770, but I will probably upgrade my GPU in the future like in a year whenever there is newer GPUs.

Thanks for your suggestions!

AM3+ as a platform isn't really worth spending that much money on, but if you must then here are some suggestions.

The 8350 is an overclocked 8320, so as you have a good board and cooler, save money get the 8320 and clock it yourself.

The motherboard is expensive as its a 990FX board. That means that you could run SLI/Xfire at x16/x16 speed. If you don't ever want dual cards the ASUS board i use is the M5A99X which would run SLI/Xfire at x8/x8 speeds which wouldn't perform much worse than x16.

Nice cooler, but Thermaltake's site doesn't seem to suggest that it will support a 280mm radiator. That case seems to support 200mm fans in the front, side and top, and 120's in the back and bottom.

Power supply is mega for one card, so i assume you will dual up on graphics later down the line.

I really would suggest looking at an Intel system as im going to bet this AMD one is very expensive. Intel would offer a newer platform, better power saving technology and more performance per core. If you want to stick with your build but want to see what we come up with, post your country or preferred retailers and a budget and we can have a play for you.

I'm probably just going to stick with the 8350.
The motherboard is well for me as I am going with a blue scheme.
I've seen a video similar to the case that I have, with the same cooler and it fit well. I'm going to order the case first, then measure everything. Once I do that, that's when I will start ordering everything else.
Agreed that the power supply is a little "overkill," but I do plan on adding a second card eventually. I want to stick with AMD as there is something about Intel that I do not like. Plus, if I did, I would have to switch motherboards and go on a search for an Intel-friendly motherboard, and I like my motherboard

Thanks for the feedback and suggestions!

I understand, its the reason my primary system is AMD based too. How much are you paying for it out of curiosity? I'm sure i could find you a cheaper blue motherboard if you wanted.

No thank you, I'm pretty dead set on it, just wanted to see what people's opinions were.

I'm paying around $1324.71 for it (minus the HDD as I have a temp on that I will be using. That is also excluding all my accessories)

For the same amount here is an identical build with a better quality power supply, a 770 and a double size SSD.

Better Intel build, newer, better power consumption, better IPC (instructions per clock) aka better per core performance. Also Intel Broadwell is coming soon to replace Broadwell so if you waited a little for that then you'd have a cutting edge system.

Thanks for the cheaper items! I will look into the cheaper PSU and SSD.
