Are you sure its not in your mailbox?

I ordered something from Amazon last week and it said it was delivered to my house, but it was actually in my mailbox.

I wouldn't say that often, depending on where
your location is and where it was shipped from.

Wait patiently is what I have to say. I waited 3 months for a $3.97 IPhone 5S case and I got just a couple days ago.

It can also depend on the size of the package. If they did not leave it in your mailbox or on your doorstep, check through your most recent mail for a slip that tells you to pick the package up at your local post office. Other than that, I would contact USPS or the guy who shipped it.

They don't normally mess up peoples orders. I have ordered tons of stuff with them, and haven't had any issues. Make sure there wasn't ever a notification on your door telling you where you can pick up the package.

Look around your doors, or next to the entrance of a gate (If you have one), depending on the package if it needs to be signed they won't drop it off if nobody is home. In that case they would leave a note saying they will attempt to drop if of another time or the package was left with a neighbor.
