xbox one headset adapter help

Bought the adapter did controller update and only thing I can hear is game volume when I unplug adapter I can here people talking and game through x 42 anybody know what's wrong

Have you updated your controller yet?
If not, follow this tutorial and it should fix the issue you are having.
Edit: Sorry, I just saw that you already did the update for your controller. Try going into your Kinect settings and turn the option off that allows you to use your Kinect as a Mic. Sometime that causes an issue with the adapter.

I did that as well I just can't seem to get chat to work at all tried re updating it to
