I can't post a link from my ipad but here's a text tutorial:

-stand somewhere that you will remember (i.e. outside of your garage)
-switch to the singleplayer character with the car you want using the D-pad
-when you're in singleplayer switch back to online
-now go to the Xbox games store and when the third flash happens when you're going into the clouds you sign out
-it'll load up singleplayer so just sign back in when it says and select the save device that the car is on
-drive the car to the spot where you were standing
-stay in the car and go into multiplayer
-when you spawn into multiplayer the car should be parked by you

To add to this, It can't be a private session you need to either risk the car being blown up by strangers or have a friend invite you.
