I am trying to get good gaming performance and it seams that a motherboard is a waste of money and is useless in gaming. All I need is a CPU and a GPU.

Please tell me you are not serious...

Where are you going to put the components?
What is going to deliver power to the CPU?
What is going to transfer all the data?
What will enable the PC to work anyway?

Please just stop being an idiot and think...

I will put all the components in the case.
The power supply will deliver power.
The hard drives will transfer all the data.
Electricity will enable the PC to work.

So why do I need a motherboard?

The motherboard is the circuit board that all components uses to interface with each other. Some of the parts that use the ports on the motherboard to connect to each other are; processor, memory, drives, graphics card and power supply.

Long story short, you NEED a motherboard. If you don't want to spend a lot on one you dont have to. Tell us the processor you'll use and the size case then we can suggest a suitable board within your budget.

Why would you bother coming into the forum to "test" us?

I'm still wondering that...

Terrabytez was 100% correct in what he said, no one can be that stupid...
