Cokes wrote This is ridiculous. No reason at all to shoot at the kids for this. He's really stretching his rights but he should be charged for this.

Yes he should be charged because he killed someone, however the group of people vandalising should be charged for vandalising property. They should not have been behaving in this way

Why would he just go out and open fire! He must have been mentally unstable or something. You don't just go outside and open fire on someone who isn't even trying to harm you.
How did he acquire the weapon?!

Kia wrote I think people should have guns to protect their homes, but should only be allowed to use them to defend themselves when someone has either entered their home, or the homeowner knows the person outside has a weapon.
If you see some kids vandalizing a car, that really isn't a good enough excuse to go out and start shooting at them.

So you're saying us gun owners shouldn't be aloud to hunt and have target practice?

I said that people should be able to have guns to protect their homes.
That is the context for the rest of what I said.
Hunting with guns or using them for target practice isn't in question.
I do think people should be allowed to hunt and use guns for target practice though.

What you said is about as relevant to what I said as saying, "So you don't think the military should be allowed to have guns?" just because I didn't explicitly state that they should.

Don't care what sine of you think. This is wrong no matter what. For example of why. If someone spilt coffee on your suit at work or something like that. Do you pull out a gun and shoot them? I don't think so, so why shoot some kids for egging a car! Wtf is wrong with people these days...

There is no reason to automatically open fire as soon as you walk out the door without warning, even then shooting because of a Prank is just crazy

No doubt this will turn into one of those debates between America and other countries. "That's why you shouldn't have guns like England", "But it's for protection". Sad to hear about this though.
