I have been jtagging consoles for about a year
Getting more serious about it
Just trying to see what kind of wire other people use
I have always used the thinist stuff Radioshack has (not sure of exact gauge)
What kind do you use?

I usually don't get a console that's 7371 and below, and knowing my luck it would be a Jasper with a split CB lol. But when I do get a console that can be Jtag exploited I just use the wires that come with CoolRunner chips, they work perfectly fine and I don't need to worry much about buying the right size

Once you've done a few CR installs, you'll end up with a substantial amount of spare wire. I personally have a box full of spare PHAT/SLIM wires.
The radioshack wiring you're probably referring to is 30awg kynar wire, which is also fine for standard points. However, power and ground lines are typically recommended for a thicker gauge such as 26awg or 24awg.
