Because there is scientific evidence that supports it.

Well that's my point. I'm not religious at all so don't think I am, but what I'm trying to ask is how do you know that "evidence" aren't myths or, made up?

Because the evidence can be proven and myths cannot?

True true but, evolution is a 'theory', not a fact.

There is one thing that you are failing to understand, religions do not need to be based on faith or a diety. A religion is simply a set of beliefs that a person has, religion doesn't have to be polytheistic or monotheistic. The theistic religions want you to think that, they are wrong.

Evolution is a scientific theroy, meaning that it is heavily supported by facts.

Humanity started off with Animism, reverence for the wild, because they lived in hunter gatherer societies, they needed the wild in order to survive.
Then we went on to ancestor worship, the spirits of our ancestors which gave us ownership of land, this was when farming communities started up.

Once that was exhausted and people were less reliant on land ownership, when communities joined together and survival was almost assured, people started looking for knowledge and understanding.

A God figure gives this knowledge and understanding, it explains the world, it explains eclipses, earthquakes, volcanoes, tsunami's.
A God explained the unexplainable for these people.
Since the conceptualisation of deities, nothing much has changed for us to need to invent a new system of explanation, other than the scientific method.

I think this is what we are seeing today.
With farming being introduced in what is now Turkey, do you think that the animistic societies wanted to give up their beliefs and adopt these new ideas?
Of course there was friction, probably even debate.
But the new idea eventually breaks through the old.

Science will do the same with Religion, I think it is only a matter of time.

I believe religion are stories based on morality. Now life after death is different. There is the same amount of evidence of life after death as evolution

Ones religion is a personal belief that involves personal opinions. You cannot have a definitive definition based on something that is intirely relative (personal opinions are not definitive, only facts are). Therefore, the definition of religion can not be defined in a definitive manner, it is intirely relative. Even the theory of relativity is relative, it's all paradoxical. To say that a religion can only be about a god is like saying that xbox can only be about call of duty because call of duty is most popular and some other game isn't. To be blunt, it's just really stupid.
