Whenever I get on xbox and try to sign in I get a error message (800704DC)
basically saying xbox live can't connect to my console.

I spent over 2 hours on the phone with customer support and they basically told me they couldn't help me.

I was hoping maybe one of you guys have had this problem before and found a solution?

Worth a try thanks

Unplug your router, wait 30 seconds, plug it back in.

Unplug your xbox.

Buy a PC.

Problem solved.

In all seriousness, the issue seems to be with your internet. Just turn everything off and leave it for a few hours, and go back and see if it works.

That's what I'm hoping for. But some people have had this same issue and said it lasted for over 3 weeks.

There's not really much you can do except wait. I had the same issue around Christmas last year.

Dashboard > Network > Wired Connection > Configure > Reset To Factory Default > Then Turn of your Xbox and reset your router.

Wait 1 minute and then turn your Xbox back on, Test your Xbox LIVE connection. If it's successful restart your Xbox and sign in.
