Stuck between 2 boards not sure which one would be better if anyone can shread some light on these boards would be great!

Asus M5A97 R2.0 AMD 970 AM3+ Motherboard Socket AM3+

Or

Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3P Motherboard Socket AM3+

Just looked only thing I can pick out is there is only 2 slots for ram but I am only using 2 so theres no problem there cheers:)

The G46 and related boards are known for VRM issues. They're cheap for a reason and it's best to steer clear.

OP, I'd suggest the Asus board of the two because it has an 8-pin power connector and I can hardly find any info on the new Gigabyte 970 boards. They appear to be the D3 and DS3 board, but with VRM coolers, which means they're good. The Biostar TA970 is also a good option and cheaper than either.

You can easily buy two 8 gigabyte sticks of ram. Who need more than 16GB?

Lots of people who use their computers to do demanding work. The average user's memory requirement has also been on the rise since computers were created.
