In my laptops product description it says my processor speed is "2.5GHz to 3.1GHz with Turbo Boost", and I was wondering if anyone knew what it is and how it would speed up my laptop.

Basically it gives the clockspeed of your CPU an increase by 600MHz, making it a little bit faster. The turbo will only kick in when needed; under heavy load.

Like Gigahertz said, it overclocks your CPU while under load to give you a little extra speed in heavy tasks.

But you'll hardly notice it, i think it turns on @ around 80% load. Not 100% sure on that one though.
