Use freestyledash 3. It has a dvd option that will rip the game to your selected destination. I had the same issue.

The game could be scratched so it can't read the game properly, only thing I could think of right now since you say it goes to 90% try renting a copy and then installing again. If it still doesnt work after that message me and we can go over some trouble shooting steps. If you dont go out and get another copy some how then go to xbox360iso and download the game and do it that way..

try this. I'm not certain but I think I have heard the the fsd game rip works better. Personally I prefer it and I've never had a problem
