Some of the most essential games include Cod 4, MW2, BO1, MW3, BO2, COD Ghosts, GTA 5, and minecraft.

Essential? No. There are a handful of games that everybody should have. Only one of these are in that handful.

Games that everybody should play in the gaming life time include the following:

Halo 3
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
Assassin's Creed ( Any one from the series )
Battlefield: 3 or 4
Grand Theft Auto: IV or V
Skyrim

These are the games that all console gamers should play at least once, give 'em a try.

Also another game to add is a sports game, if you like soccer play fifa, if you like american football then play Madden/
