you must get 19000 points on the Singapore mission in the campaign no this item does not carry over into Mulitiplayer I thought it did at first

There is not Barrett 50 Cal that you can unlock on BF4 multiplayer which I assume is what you're talking about. There is a gun that looks similar to it and it's called the M98B.

You can pick up a 50 Cal sniper on the map that spawns in certain locations though.

In SP its an unlockable. In MP you must search the map for it. You can also test it out on the test range
