What does the PS4 support? Thinking of buying a film and don't know which version I should buy

Blu-Ray only, but it's well worth the cost over the dvd. The quality is so much better.

Yes it plays then right now, the games are blu ray. If it couldn't use blu ray right now, then it couldn't play games.

The PS4... as i own one myself, plays both ordinary discs aswell as blue-ray discs. If you want the best quality though get blue-ray disced films
