I am about to build my first full system and all i need is the GPU. I am building this system for gaming and want to run battlefield 4 on ultra at a minimum of 60 FPS.
I need help deciding between these GPU's
Gtx 770 4Gb GDDR5 by EVGA
R9 280x 3Gb GDDR5 by Power Color
They're both in my price range but i dont want to spend more than $450 on my GPU just yet

Here's the rest of my build:
Cooler master storm scout 2
AMD fx 6350 3.9 ghz six core
H100i CPU cooler
EVGA 650w supernova fully modular
Corsair vengeance LP 1 x 8 gb 1600
Asus m5a97 LE R2.0 MOBO
Western Digital 1TB 7200 rpm 64 mob cache HDD
Windows 7 Home Premium

Lemme know what you think!

Since you have liquid cooling i'd of got a 6300 and OC'd it. Anyway that's beside the point.

If you want to play BF4 alot. Then i suggest going with the AMD card as its better optimized. Also, when mantle comes out it will increase performance and FPS. However the GTX 770 is a solid all round card and will beat the R9 280X on other games. Also, 4GB isn't needed at 1080p, unless its a higher resolution or multiple monitors.

Ok so if i went with the gtx 770, would you reccomend only 2 gbs?

Yeah get the GTX770 2GB as its cheaper and should perform similarly even in Battlefield.

The GTX 770 is a great card. It is what I will be buying to replace my two HD 6950's. However, the AMD R9 280X is also a great card, but is slightly outperformed by the 770. Even when mantle does come out, I predict it only giving about a 5FPS increase in BF4. My 2 6950's max out BF4 with 60+ FPS on just about every map. And that is with the game being buggy and all of its bullshit right now.

I would say get the GTX 770. Slightly outperforms the 280X in many games.
