Currently, I own a Tritton AX180 Gaming Headset. I've owned this since around December 2012 and I've been using it to play Search and Destroy on each of the Call of Duty games, except Ghosts. Anyway, my PS4 will be arriving soon and I'm feeling like I should be upgrading to a better headset (since my current one was only 39.99). However, before I spend any of my money on a new headset, I'm wondering if headsets actually make footsteps significantly louder (in Search and Destroy especially), regardless of whether you use the 'Amplify' perk or not? If so, any headset suggestions would be welcome. Thanks in advance!

Depends, on mw2-black ops 1-mw3 you can use sitrep, wich makes footsteps insanely easy to hear with the headset.
While on the other hand, if you play snd and use dead silence, the headset might pick up some sound from other people using dead silence if theyre close. While people who don't use dead silence, are pretty easy to hear. On ghosts i've never used the amplify perk, just dead silence, and i can soundwhore like the best ;)

Your tritton headset will do it if you have audio cables from the tritton to your TV otherwise your best bet is Turtle Beach and yes they help out your gaming experience a lot!
