I get that quite a lot, It normally caused by a bad server.

Clear your System Cache and then retry. If it happens again you probably have a bad DNS. I would advise that you set it back to Automatic if it occurs again until you can find one that works.

If the error is still occuring.
- Go on your PC.
- Start > Run > cmd.exe
- Type "ping (192.186.101.23)" but change the IP address inside the brackets.
- If it says "Request timed out" then the server is corrupt or down.

reset your system cache, go to social club and unlink your account, rockstar told me to do so and it worked for me!
