My friend had just hosted a DNS Server lobbies and he told me he had just been consoled banned during the lobby. So if you decide to join or host one it's your choice to get banned or not. Do it at your own risk and see what happens. It's not Rockstars fault for getting you banned it's your fault for putting yourself at risk of being banned. So be wise and think about what you are about to do

Many people contacted microsoft including my self they can't console ban for DNS as it is not system tampering or pirating more than likely will be put in cheaters pool even rockstar confirmed it on there support website it really depends how you use the DNS mods if you go round in god mode killing people or giving away in game money or making people pay for money lobbies that could land you on an account ban but if it's your first offence you can plead for your account to be recovered if you used the DNS in an invite only session to level your self up or give yourself cash you will possibly get put in the cheaters pool it just depends how you use them.
All though I recommend you stop using them or keep it at a minimal.
