It's official. Valve will start its distribution of SteamOS to OEMs and consumers tomorrow. As it is freeware, GabeN's own operating system will be free for consumers.

Are we going to have the same ballache dual booting Windows with Linux like we already do?

Pretty much. But with bootloaders such as GRUB and custom skins, its a fairly quick (and pretty) process nowadays.

I never got my head around GRUB to be honest and i put a hell of a lot of time into it. I can't imagine normal home users would be able to even consider dual booting as a viable option.

That's why we're called the master race. SteamOS will only really be used in sofa builds, but it's exciting to be a part of this when it first releases. I guarantee I wont be booting into steamOS to game, but i want to test it out and get a feel. The reason I'm most excited for this is because this finally means that Lots of AAA games will be made with Linux in mind, and this means I can finally delete windows altogether and switch to Linux. What a day it will be.

That will be awesome when Linux gets more focus, i tried it for the first time a while back and dat speed.
