ok so basically i have an old phone which is a samsung galaxy mini s5570 and ive just got a new one so i was wanting to root the samsung and put something like chocobread on it.

my question: at the moment it has Froyo installed on it and most roms need gingerbread, so if i put gingerbread on it and then install chocobread, will that work?

Q 2: do i root it before or after the new rom?

Q 3: when do i install clockwork mod? before gingerbread or chocobread?

also any othe tips or something else would be greatly appreciated

thanks for your time and i hope to hear from you.. +REP

You need to unlock your bootloader, then install CWM or TWRP, then flash the ROM and GApps. You'd need to find a flash the Gingerbread or higher ROM built for the device, then Chocobread or whatever after that. You don't need to worry about rooting since most ROMs will be rooted already, if not all you need to do is flash the SuperSU.zip.

You have to unlock the bootloader in order to flash a custom recovery. You need a custom recovery to flash a custom ROM/SuperSU/any other .zip

No problem man, just use XDA Developers and you'll be fine. If you need help along the way feel free to ask.
