Depends on the budget but I would go with the 4770k.

If you are building a pc for gaming then I'd recommend intel over amd.

What is your budget for the full build?

Lower budget

AMD Athlon X4 750K/760K
AMD FX 6300
AMD FX 8320
Intel i5 4430/4440/Etc.
Intel Xeon E3 1230 V3 (No OC)
Intel i5 4670K (OC)
Intel i7 4770K
Intel i7 3/4930K

Higher budget

It all depends what you are using the computer for.
If you are going to be strictly gaming and web browsing
I would go with the AMD. If you plan on doing a lot of
multitasking and other stuff I would get the i7. You need
to also put in to consideration what your other parts are.
you do not want to get a great processor and scimp out
on your GPU. I hope I helped good luck with your build.

the 4770K beats the 9590 in basically every test. The i7 is an unbeatable CPU (Apart from high end Xeon's) The TDP's for the 9590 is ridiculous 220W for a single stock clocked CPU! Not many boards even support 220W TDP, so finding one of them is going to be expensive. I think the AM3+ Sabertooth supports 220W but that's getting on for 160GBP!

Budget builds = AMD
High End builds = Intel..

At the moment, I'd be inclined, for a gaming computer, to save money on a CPU and get the 8350 so that you could get a better graphics card.

It depends on your budget, however.

The CPUs I would personally buy, starting from a lower budget, would be; AMD 750K, FX 6300, FX 8320, i5 4570, Xeon E3 1230 V3 (or 4670K if you want to overclock) and then a 4770k. Obviously, if you have even more money you could get a 4930K, but it's a bit pointless spending anymore money than that because for 50% more money, you might get 10% more performance, and less in gaming.

The AMD 9xxx series CPUs are just overclocked 83xx series CPUs I believe. They require immense power from the motherboard sockets, which, unless you've got solid power design and a high enough TDP, your motherboard will quite literally burn.
